Merry Christmas!

Posted on: 12.20.2012

Jesse and I had an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at our new house last weekend.  We had a really fun time with our friends and family.  I made some hot chocolate in the CrockPot that was SO good and we had a ton of snacks!  I also set up a fun photo booth to capture all of the Ugly Sweaters which you can see below.   Our friends were so creative and we even had prizes for the top two voted ugly sweaters!  It was a really fun time and got me into the Christmas spirit!  I hope we will be able to do it again next year. ;) I will not be posting next week because I will be on holiday break.  I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Thirty Days of Thanks

Posted on: 12.04.2012

In November, I did a thirty days of thanks where I actually thanked all of the wonderful people in my life.  I called/texted/wrote/emailed these great people and told them how important they were to me.  It was very fulfilling!  I hope to do this every year.  Some of it was repetitive, but I was just keeping track of it on twitter.  Anything is better than not telling people how important they are to you.
  1. Grateful to have my brave, funny, caring, and beautiful sister in my life! How lucky I am!
  2. I love my Mom! She is one of my best friends and I value her opinion so much!
  3. I am so grateful for my fiance. I hope I can care for him as well as he does me. Live Goal: be a great wife!
  4. I am thankful for my house. I love being a homeowner! So empowering! I love making a home with my best friend.
  5. I am grateful to have a job. While not ideal, it has helped me buy a house, pay the bills, and have benefits.
  6. I am grateful to be a citizen of a great nation where I am granted the freedom to cast my vote and voice my opinions.
  7. I am thankful for my fitness studio: Beyond Motion. They helped me find a fitness routine I not only do, but love!

  12. I am thankful for the grocery store! Silly but as much as I hate going I am glad I don’t have to hunt and gather!
  13. I am grateful for my Grandad. We shared many interests: dancing and photography included.
  14. I am thankful for my exercise calss. The instructor is so sweet and the calss helped get me exercising again. And I love it!

My Engagement Party

Posted on: 11.29.2012

My parents held Jesse and I an engagement party earlier this year in April.  Here is the invite!  It was a really great relaxed get together so everyone could meet.  It was at my parents' house with just our families and our bridal party.  Everyone got along and it was a really feel good time.

Bridesmaids

Posted on: 10.18.2012

For Valentine's Day I decided to ask my bridesmaids to be in my wedding.  These cute cards came from Rifle Paper Company and I wrote personalized messages to each of them and gave them as Valentines.  My sister is my Maid of Honor and my future sister-in-law is my Bridesmaid.  I'm so excited for my wedding!

New Addition!

Posted on: 6.28.2012

I can't wait to tell you about the newest addition to the Loving Care Photography family!  A Yashica Mat 124G camera!  My fiance got me one for my birthday this past weekend.  It is a medium format film camera, so I didn't have any to try it, but immediately placed an order.  I can't wait until the film arrives and I can try it out.  I have been dying to try medium format...SO exciting!  Thanks sweets!

Happy Birthday Jesse!

Look it's Me! Photos by Kallie Brynn Photography

Posted on: 4.06.2012

Happy Friday!  I stumbled across Kallie Brynn Photography via twitter I believe.  I immediately fell in love with her work, and when I saw she lived in Central Florida, I was ecstatic!  When she announced that she was moving to Seattle, I knew I had to work with her before she left and immediately contacted her!  I was in Orlando the first weekend in December and so I stopped by Lakeland on my drive home to Naples for a session with her.  Kallie is the sweetest person and I just love the head shots she captured for me.  She's put a face on Loving Care Photography!  Thank you so much Kallie!  I know if I ever go to Seattle I will be contacting you for another session!

Also, fun tidbit, I got engaged a couple days after these photos were taken!  To see a few more from our photo session, just go to Kallie Brynn Photography's blog post about me.  I can't decide which one is my favorite, what do you think?

Happy One Year!

Posted on: 4.01.2012

A year ago today I officially launched Loving Care Photography!  I can't believe that my business is a year old.  I've had some great success as well as some disappointments.  Overall, I'm glad I took the chance to start something I had always wanted to do!  I know that my business will continue to grow over the next year and beyond.  As my blog readers will have noticed, I am highlighting my film photographs more often than digital photographs.  This is because film really speaks to me.  I am passionate about its colors, its deliberateness, and its overall aesthetic.  Film's natural style is what I try to accomplish in all of my images.  From now on, I will be shooting at least 50% film for my client shoots, and I'm sure this percentage will increase as this year progresses.  I am SO excited about this!  It is the next step in my photography dreams!

This month I'm celebrating the first year of being in business and I want to celebrate your dreams as well.  I am thrilled to be offering a 50% discount on portrait sessions for people reaching for their dreams.  This includes, senior portraits, business headshots, and other one person photo sessions.  That means you can get a one subject full photo-session for $100 if you book your session during the month of April.  Please send me an email to book yours!  This is so exciting and I can't wait to celebrate with you!
